CIPE Deputy Director Meets with CACCI Secretariat Executives
Ms. Catherine Tai, Deputy Director, Asia and the Pacific Program at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), on December 8 visited the Secretariat of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) in Taipei where she was received by Director-General Dr. Darson Chiu and Deputy Director-General Mr. Amador Honrado Jr.
During the visit, Ms. Tai briefed the CACCI executives on the mandates of CIPE and the activities it is currently undertaking with business organizations and relevant government agencies based in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in achieving economic resilience and enhancing economic security. The CACCI executives informed Ms. Tai that the mandates of CIPE align very well with the activities of the Confederation, particularly in promoting entrepreneurship and trade facilitation in the region. They discussed possible areas that the two organizations can work together in achieving these important objectives in 2026 and thereafter.
Established in 1983, CIPE is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a core institute of the National Endowment for Democracy, and a co-host of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation. CIPE works alongside local partners in developing countries to build business environments that are fair and stable. Its global network includes organizations representing small and medium-sized companies, as well as governments and think tanks to overcome barriers to economic participation through streamlined trade, regulatory efficiencies, stronger property rights, increased e-commerce, and more transparent government processes.
