FCCISL Appoints Dr. Rohitha Silva as President for 2026–2028
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) has appointed veteran entrepreneur Dr. Rohitha Silva as its President for the 2026–2028 term at its 49th Annual General Meeting, held on May 22, 2026.
FCCISL, which represents over 63 chambers and more than 100,000 business entities across Sri Lanka, continues to serve as a key platform for private sector advocacy, trade facilitation, and business development. Founded in 1973, the Federation has evolved into a national network supporting entrepreneurship, SME growth, and international trade linkages.
Dr. Silva, a seasoned business leader and IDAC (Pvt) Ltd. Chairman, brings extensive experience in both industry and regional cooperation, including leadership roles in SAARC CCI and other international business platforms. His appointment also marks the first time a former Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE) Chairman has assumed the FCCISL presidency.
In his remarks, Dr. Silva highlighted the need for decisive action to support business recovery and growth, and announced plans to roll out “Vision Sri Lanka 2027,” a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening local industries and expanding regional and global market access.
He also called for stronger collaboration between entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and institutions to drive sustainable and inclusive economic development.
