CACCI joins 48th ROC-Korea Conference & Korea-Taiwan Business Councils
Director-General Dr. Darson Chiu and Deputy Director-General Mr. Amador Honrado Jr. represented the Confederation at the 48th Joint Conference of ROC-Korea and Korea-Taiwan Business Councils organized by the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) on July 19, 2024 in Seoul, Korea.
Held at the FKI Tower Conference Center, the event was attended by some 100 businesspersons from both Taiwan and Korea who exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation that are expected to further strengthen the foundation of economic relations between the two countries. The Taiwanese delegation was headed by Mr. Jimmy Chu, Chairman, ROC-Korea Business Council under CIECA (Taiwan), while the Korean side was led by Mr. Joon Kim, Chairman, Korea-Taiwan Business Council and Mr. Kim Chang Beom, Vice Charman and CEO of FKI.
Speakers from both sides presented business opportunities in various fields including e-commerce, logistics, distribution, food and beverage, tourism, start-ups, new energy, smart manufacturing, machinery industry, and exchange programs for young Taiwanese and Koreans.
Before the closing of the Conference, Dr. Chiu met and conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Joon Kim, Chairman, Korea-Taiwan Business Council, and to Mr. Kim Chang Beom, Vice Charman and CEO of FKI, for the opportunity not only to participate in the important dialogue between members of CIECA and FKI which enabled him and Mr. Honrado to learn from the sharing of ideas on areas of possible cooperation between the two sides, but also to be able to introduce to them and to a number of FKI members about CACCI and its activities.
Dr. Chiu also extended invitation to both Mr. Kim and to other FKI officers and members to join the 38th CACCI Conference scheduled to be co-hosted by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) on November 11-12, 2024 in Singapore, adding that their presence will allow them to know more about the Confederation and to personally meet its officers and members from other Asia-Pacific countries.
